Private minters struck Territorials in the mid-19th century to meet a demand that the U.S. Mint couldn't. Templeton Reid was among them, issuing a handful of denominations - including this $2.50 gold piece. With fewer than 15 known, this stunning PCGS AU58 example is one of the most significant territorial coins in the James A. Stack, Sr. Collection.
