PCGS - After the U.S. took control of the Philippine Islands in 1898, the Philadelphia Mint began striking silver pesos for the country, matching U.S. dollar specs. Just 10,000 were minted in 1904 - the series's lowest mintage. In PCGS MS66, this example stuns with gold tones.
Incredible piece. Thank you for sharing. They used this same obverse design by Melicio Figueroa for the first Republic of Philippines coins starting in 1958 (the "English Series") for the 50-, 25- and 10-Centavos.
