Thanks for helping me on this one.

What do I have here?
How would it be graded?
What would be it's general value?

Thanks
Dan

Not my area, but perhaps Constantine II, minted at Treveri/Trier.

I am not too enthusiastic with NCG's grading considering only two main overall factors: surface and strike.
However I do appreciate NGC in this area of numismatics, to help out newbies that may have lots of money to spend as investors.
A problem with the slabbing of ancient coins is that a full grading description cannot be given.
Most ancient coins also require a full type description complete with catalog references. Cannot provide that info on a slab.

Perhaps things (in no particular order), like wear, flan condition including presence of splits, completeness of legends, clarity and evenness of strike, corrosion and results of cleaning, patina quality, die cutting skill to name just a few,
to give and overall grading assessment, that should almost always be accompanied with brief comments.

So how does a learning collector of ancient coins cope?
- study your coins closely, and gain experience through the process of learning. Grading skills will grow in parallel with the experience you gain.

Nevertheless, it is desirable that all of the more valuable ancient coins should be graded.

This coin:
Overall VF, black patina, minimal wear, even strike, complete but indistinct reverse legends.
