the simplest solution would be to have a local friend walk you through the basics

I'll give some simple suggestions that work for me - of course your photo editing software might require certain steps that you need to figure out.

1. Take your raw photo which is often several MB in file size and crop the photo to show minimal background - and while you are at it rotate the coin so we don't need to turn our monitors to view it.

2. Resize the cropped & rotated photo to 800x800 pixels size.

3. Save the resized photo as a jpeg file and select enough compression to get the file size well below the 300KB limit the CCF allows. Be sure to give each photo a different file name, and save them on your device at a location where you can find them.

4. When you want to insert the photo into your thread simply scroll near the bottom of the box you are typing into and click Upload Image hyperlink - this will take you to a page to select and upload your photo.

Hope that helps.

Another is the free program faststone image viewer I use https://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm using CTRL+R to resize up or normally down such as to 600 pixels or lower and then CTRL+S to save in JPG with an options button to even adjust the jpg quality. Its also capable to rotate just hitting R when viewing the image, cropping and adjust colors like brightness or contrast is found on the right mouse click menu meaning you just press the right mouse button to see the menu then select the option.

When on pc thats the one I prefer over others but if you share where you are stuck on the tutorials further info can be given. This is important as many people must have trouble with photos as they browse and don't post.
