While searching an unopened roll off 2000 LMC for WAMs I came across what appears to be some sort of doubling on the ear. While it doesn't seem to match the WDDO-001, it's definitely some sort of anomaly when compaired to the PCGS photo of the cent. Might just be MD, but I would like some more expert opinions. Thanks

I'm leaning toward Machine Doubling as well, but the odd thing is I had 3 bank rolls off 2000 LMC, and this was the only one like it in the 3 rolls. Most of the coins (about 95%) were all very strong, clean strikes with little to no die issues.
Anyhoo, I'll put it in a 2x2 and hang on to it, besides, it has a pretty cool die gouge on the chin.

Let's not be hasty in calling that Machine Doubling. The earlobe is a known location for jolted-type class 9 doubling on Lincoln cents of that era. Compare the known 1997 DDO for Lincoln's earlobe with this 2000 cent. That is darn similar. There is a more extreme version from 2006 where the earlobe is separated from the ear. Both varieties are official Fivaz-Stanton DDO listings. You can find several less extreme doubled earlobes on Variety Vista and Wexler's doubled die index for multiple different years in 1999-2006.

If someone stumbled across an unlisted DDO on a Lincoln Cent of that era, the President's earlobe is almost certainly where it would be. I'm not saying conclusively DDO vs. MD, but I think we need to be systematic with this example.

Step one for me would be to ask what the other devices look like. Have they been sheared by push doubling?

Not seeing any doubling on this. Might just be the glare from lighting that you see.

At Brandmeister, the other devices all seem to be pretty sharp and clean. I'll check the coin and get a few images of the surrounding devices. Thanks for pointing this out to me, I only checked for DDOs for 2000. I know now to look at some other years that may have similar issues

Brandmeister asked about any signs of shearing that would constitute push doubling. I've added a few images that may help to see if that is the case. I don't see any sort of shearing, but possibly a more experienced eye may see something.
