mike31093 Valued Member United States 354 Posts	Posted 09/20/2023 4:34 pm This commemorative was authorized by Public Law 103-328 (Section 208) and signed by President Bill Clinton on September 29,1994. This coin was created to help fund projects/mission of the US Botanic Gardens in Washington, DC. Authorized were both uncirculated and proof coins. A Coinage and Currency set was also produced. The set included an uncirculated silver dollar with a matte finish, a 1997-P Jefferson nickel and a $1 Federal Reserve Note. A 1997-S proof Botanic silver dollar was also include in a Prestige Set, mintage 80,000. My coin shows 2 scratches on, I believe, the inside of the capsule on the reverse and just above "BO". I can see a reflection of the scratches in the field so it's not on the coin. If you like roses, this coin is for you. Designers: Edgar Z. Steevers, IV (Obv) and William C.
