strike looks normal for the year. good luster. clean cheek. a little scuffing on both sides. TPG's like the gold toning. I think they would bump it a tad for that. i'd call it MS64. I think a 65 grade is tad much but would not surprise me at all

I think it depends on how the scruffiness in front of Liberty shows in-hand. It looks to be pretty light, so I am going to say MS-65.

This is one of 16 middlin' Morgans I sent to auction at Great Collections.

It's my first experience with Great Collections. Commissions are much lower than ebay (or HA). It takes a lot more time, and so far the bidding is underwhelming, but I assume it will pick up at the close.

Awesome! I have never sold with GC, but when buying, bidding always seems to pick up within the last few hours.

Looks like it's on the cusp of gem but have seem much worse in a gem holder.

Pathetic performance on Great Collections. $83.00 for this coin! The other Morgans I listed also fell flat. Fewer than 50 listing views for most of them.

Apparently it will take a month to get paid, too.

I'll stick to HA and ebay going forward. Not going to repeat that experience.

I gotta admit that is a weak result. I've consigned to Great Collections several times and have always been happy with the results. Widgets are often better served on ebay. The buyer is probably pretty happy though.

I'm thinking the way it toned across the face and the larger scuff may have something to do with the sale as well. if I was looking for an 85(O) I would have looked at more. the eye appeal is not there for me. I do think the grade is correct though.

I agree with panzaldi. I would not have graded that at 64+. I certainly would have found a more eye appealing 85 O.
