Is it for sure bronze? My first thought was Samaria or Sidon before I read "bronze" in your post.

Bronze or copper. But it has thick remains of silver plating on it.

Perhaps the base core of an ancient imitation from Sidon or Samaria, then? Something like:

Yes, it looks very similar.

Fourees (plated ancients) are collectable, but the condition of yours suggests the value would be very low.

Here's a direct link - at CNG - to the coin I referenced earlier. It is in much better shape, with the plating mostly intact. As you see it sold for $65:

BTW, here's another - not a fouree (not an imitation) - that matches up pretty well to the position of the king and lion on yours. Now that I look for it, I think I can even see the remnants of the king's beard and dagger on yours.

Kamnaskires, you are absolutely right!
On your last link the design of the coin is exactly the same as on my coin. I can even see the remnants of the galley and year IIII.
