This is not my coin or images. There appears to be a "C" under the ribbon on the reverse. I can't find anything online about it. However it looks like a mint mark, could it be Canberra? Or is this just Pareidolia?

According to all the pictures of the same coin being sold, and on numista, I don't see any possible mintmarked coins, so I conclude that there would be no mintmark in that location. So unless I am missing something, I think paridolia.

I just checked the pictures in the McDonald catalogue and I don't see any C and no mention of it either, in any of that series.

They didn't start using a "C for Canberra" mintmark on any coins until 1993.

with mrwhatisit.

If it hadn't been so well centred then you probably wouldn't have given it another thought .. much like the '5' to the left.

Yeah, I was thinking of Pareidolia too, couldn't find anything anywhere.

Thanks, everyone!
