When pulling out some known varieties to photograph, I found this envelope that I had set aside from Pop-Pop's little hoard of wheat cents. I have gotten better with DDO types (and MD/DDD/flattening), but I still don't know what to conclude about this LWC.

The features that grab my attention are: 1. The way the chubby IBE in Liberty has that distorted hook on the bottom left, 2. the way the last 4 has that triangular cut above the crossbar, 3. the way that the thickness of the date is not matched by the adjacent D mint mark, which seems normal (if a bit crooked).

But I could not match it up conclusively with any listing on Variety Vista, Wexler, or Copper Coins. It does look a bit like the FS-101 on PCGS, but definitely not enough to convince me.

Thoughts?

Argh. I just realized that we've already confirmed this LWC as a DDO in a separate thread. I have no idea why I put it back in an envelope with question marks on it.

Thanks, Errers, you are of course correct! =P

Apologies to all for the confusion.

Yep, that's a nice example of a class 6 DDO.

The "elfen shoe" base of the "E" of WE and the thickness on the base of the "U" of TRUST are nice indicators of a class 6 DDO also.
