I have just bought an 1898 Morgan dollar. I have decided to measure it - just to double-check whether it is genuine. Interestingly the weight is spot on 26.73 grams. But the diameter is 37.84 mm instead of 38.10 and the thickness is 2.65 mm instead of 2.4 mm. Any thoughts?
