1999 d Connecticut quarter on experimental planchet everything checks out so far the color the weight the lifted edges on the rim please help is this a legit rare coin air or is it just a plated coin

pic is too large to fully evaliate, from the visible part it looks like an environmentally toned quarter, which will make it tough to prove otherwise

Provide exact weight of coin and some clear photos of the coin edge and the reverse.
Might help but still a long shot.

Here's one I found a few years ago.Not sure why the quarters tone like this but I think it's a pretty common occurrence. I liked it so I kept it even tho it really has no value.

This is most likely environmental issues as others have said.
I cannot tell if the coin has any mint luster.

Improper annealing can cause color variations but it is difficult to prove.
(Think of "Black Beauty nickels")
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

The known experimental planchets are overweight (5.9 to 6.3g).
