One question about this coin is that the date looks tilted to the right to me. Looking at the Osburn-Cushing reference, the two die pairs known for this issue do not have the date tilted to the right.

I had to rotate the coin images slightly and bring them back to round because they originally looked like this:

1846-$1-Liberty-Seated-Dollar-#7
1846-$1-Liberty-Seated-Dollar-#7

But when I extend one of the lines from the 1 to the shield as the reference does, it extends correctly to go up through the T and Y in LIBERTY.

That is a lot of detail for $519 ! I hope the toning is original. If it is, that is a very good purchase, I would say.

I will throw in my low grade example for comparison. I paid 150 euros a few years ago.

I think you did comparatively (much) better.

I will grade by the price paid. XF details Cleaned. I think the coin will look quite different in hand. I say that because the coin is encased in a Capital plastic holder and I have never seen a Capital plastic holder with such an off white almost yellowish tint . Please update us when you have the coin in hand. TIA

This looks much better than the 1871 coin. Some luster remaining in protectes areas. I think the seller may have tried to get rid of the green on shield before sending the coin out to me. A little debris by liberty's eye. Will remove when I open the capital plastics holder. Further thoughts? Thanks!

Thank you for your comments. Finally got the coin out of its case and dusted it off. All in all, a nice pull I think.
