I've written before the medals of the Stone Mountain Monumental Memorial Association (read about them here: 1925 Stone Mountain Cousins - The Lukeman Medals.

To promote its project to children, the Association created a leaflet describing the Augustus Lukeman designed Children's Founders Medal (vs. the original, octagonal Gutzon Borglum version) and what children would receive, in addition to the medal, for their donation of $1.00.

As noted in the leaflet, the Memorial Association used the leaflet as part of a campaign to get 1 million children across the South to enroll in the program via a $1.00 donation.

Unfortunately, my example of the leaflet is not in pristine condition - a bit of adhesive tape damaged the front of the leaflet and removed some of its wording. I have recreated the damaged sections below, and have highlighted in red the missing content.

Each name will be recorded upon a separate line, and with it will be recorded the address of the child, and the name of the Confederate soldier in whose memory the child's dollar was contributed. The child will receive a certificate showing the number of the page and the number of the line upon which his or her name was recorded.

The Book of Memory is being made to order for the Children's Founders Roll. The pages will be made of the moset enduring parchment paper that science has devised. The names will be recorded with indelible ink, so that the record will endure for centuries.

The Children's Founders Roll has been endorsed in the highest terms by heads of patriotic, religious, fraternal and civic bodies; by educators, clergymen,

The Association's medals were an example of the many ways it explored to raise funds for the Stone Mountain Memorial carving. While adults (primarily) were the target audience for the Association's commemorative half dollar, it certainly did not overlook the potential of those under 18 years old!

From the pamphlet:

Please. Whitewashing of history at its very worst.
But very informative materials, commems - thank you for sharing it with us. The Stone Mountain commemorative half is one of the most popular around here, and dealers at shows always have one or two but rarely any others.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

That's not the version that's told in the North.
