The obverse has a single-arched crown and longer legends, while the reverse has a double rose, so it is Everson Rose Type 4a/3 (mule) 180; Spink 3204. They all have inner circles too and the early ones have longer legends with CAROLVS MAG BRIT, FRAN HIB instead of CAROLV MA BRI, FRA HI. But you can't get a mule of a Maltravers and a Rose - the flans are vastly different and made in different ways - so the rose really does distinguish them. Report this Post to the Staff
