Hello, CCF. I picked this up for $78. This variety, from looking at MS62 example, generally lacks any detail where the clasp would be in addition to the stars stretching to the edge. The pictures are very close to what it looks like in hand, maybe a tad darker in the pictures. I thought it looked pretty clean and appealing for the price and fit the budget. I was thinking low VF. What say you?

VF condition. One thing that concerns me is the scratches that are going diagonally on the face and hair. I don't know if it would detail it or not.

I'm at VF30 and wonder if the scratches are on the coins holder.

VF-30. Not too much wear on this lady but she lacks luster. Makes a perfect mid VF.

obv looks VF25 reverse VF30. i'll give it a straight grade. the obv may be showing a weaker strike and the reverse may bring it up to VF30 so i'll go with VF30. TPG's in general are very inconsistent with weaker struck coins. i'd love to discuss their thought process on grading that with a grader from either big house.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The coin is not slabbed. The scratches are on the coin, however looking at it under magnification it looks like circulation rub, not cleaning. There are other marks or very light scratches that don't show but all very random and mostly on the high points. Overall I'm very happy with the addition. Next stop is a bust half in the 1807 to 1814 range.
