good evening all,

trying to confirm the die markers and everything for this SLQ, I believe it is the 18/7 S. You can see the little dimple to the left of the bottom right star, there is something in the area of the die chip by the right knee, and the mint mark looks like it is in the right spot.

any experts, insight, or help would be appreciated.

I am no expert, but I have had two of these confirmed in semi lower grades confirmed by NGC in the last couple of years. One thing I look for is the clashed E to the left of Liberty's leg and the area above the "dimple " by the star usually doesn't have a well defined "shelf". I don't see a clear E (which both of my examples had) and your shelf looks very well defined, but I did find a couple on Heritage where that shelf is there.....my advice, if you REALLY think it is , send it in to NGC....Its worth the $27 as its a $2,000 coin!

Roach,

In your opinion, does the dimple look like its in the right place?

Also, do you know if the dimple is present in normal strikes?

I think the spot your referring to as the dimple on your coin is a little too high and usually its more pronounced in my opinion. But its always hard to tell in a picture.

Not an overdate. The drapery by her foot is wrong. Sorry

Sorry. I was wrong about the drapery. I was thinking of the 16. But it is still not an overdate. The 7 inside the loop of the 8 goes further up inside the loop and on about all of the overdates the step is missing and there is a dot below where the step would have been.
