I think I found a match for this Tiberius Denarius in the fake coin reports. I believe there is also evidence of a casting seam. Unfortunately, I don't have the coin in hand yet for a closer look.
I cancelled the order. Usually I do my research beforehand, it was an impulse buy. As most of you know, I've been collecting for awhile and I'm by no means an expert- but it's almost embarrassing to admit that even now I have to second guess myself.
The coin is actually on it's way, but I will get a refund. The seller does not specialize in ancients but bought a collection and it looks like a few were fakes, but the majority actually look genuine. I think the coin perfectly matches the fake in the reports (black background).
