From your last photo I would estimate the rotation to be around 160 % not quite a perfect 180 % upset die, still worth something. As mentioned for a mirror photo use a tweezer to hold coin and have a friend take the photo of the coin and mirror image

p-nut, mirror shots are so hard to get. Do not think it's just you not able to get it. Good luck. I think you've proven the rotation, so don't sweat it.

Ty loonielewy, yes I still have not mastered it. I am stubborn though and hate producing crappy pictures. I shall prevail lol even with my 20 year old camera.

Hello peanut26, welcome to the community. I post for you a pic of a 1991 cent with the same rotation and possibly from the same die pair as your coin. I have had this coin for a while now and it is my daughter's birth year so it will go to her eventually. It's funny one of her nicknames is peanut!

Wow Denny thank you for that, great to see another was out there. Thats awesome your daughters nickname is Peanut. Your cent looks to be in a bit better condition than mine. Another weird thing is how close your username is to my last name Have you ever looked up yours to see if there is anymore info on them?

Ah yes, my daughter will one day receive my collection. I have a large small cent collection and have gone through hundreds of boxes. I've found many errors and varieties, lots of clips and blanks. I think some of these rotation errors are from dies becoming loose during striking. As for value many errors are what the purchaser is willing to pay. I also have a 1964 penny with a 90 degree rotation and it's my birth year. I see you are on the west coast like I am, there is a small coin show in Burnaby early next February.

Would be interesting to actually attend a show, I never have. Thought it would just be overwelming and I would want to buy everything lol. I will have to keep it in mind though. I am a very rookie collector dabbled in it for approx. 20 yrs but errors and varieties are what I like. Used to have a fairly large collection of Austrian silvers but sold them ages ago. Definately will consider the show but hate driving that diection. Ty Denny.

Try putting your coin near a mirror and taking a photo of both sides at once

These are definitely collectable. There is one on ebay right now with this date (maybe it's this coin?). Obviously, most error collectors like these kind of errors in mint state condition. If you need a price point, I had a 1964 1-cent, normally circulated condition, that I recently sold for $75 that had a 90 degree rotation. Given the condition here, you should be able to get at least that for this one.

Hi spp-ottawa, ty for that information. The ebay coin for sure isn't mine I don't have an ebay account. I am trying to go through the small collection I have so that I can card them with the right description/attribution. Most of my coins have been in the closet for the last 15 yrs. its time to put the rest in holders. If I was to leave this earth no one would have a clue as to what I have in my meager collection and probaly just spend them

Too funny xwl the second link was me under the username that I couldn't remember this time. That was back in 2017 asking basically the same questions. Now I have 2 sets of answers, and perhaps evidence of some form of Dementia setting in.
