Have had this for quite awhile, cannot remember how I managed this picture I may have had help with it. I am curious as to wether or not these are sought after by collectors or just considered junk. I recall first noticing it when checking both sides because when looking at the reverse and spinning it around the queen was standing on her head. With all the coin enthusiasts on this forum thought someone would know if this was common to find.  |

Try putting the coin in a 2x2, then get a shapie and mark top of the Queen"s head on the plastic, you will see the degree of rotation by flipping the 2x2, if you have a 180% rotation it is most valuable as an upset die, good luck and welcome !

Ty John but I am no further ahead because I am not sure how to find out anymore about this one. It seems Canadian errors/varieties are difficult to research, not much interest in them I guess.

I'm confused. The coin in your first pic is not the same as the coin in your second pic. Post pics of both sides of the 2x2 or in front of a mirror.

Hi yes I believe when I first found this I took a picture of the reverse of another 91 to try to show the orientation. Like I said it was quite a while ago. The mirror image is going to be a challenge but I will try. I took a pic of the obverse and you can see where the sharpy marks are. Its blurry I will try again later but am painting a wall at the moment. Guess this is why I had to stop this hobby before..not enuff time in the day  |

Just put it in a new 2x2 , put a sharpie mark on Queen"s head top, then flip over and photo with no new sharpie marks on the reverse. the reverse photo will show the mark from the Queens head and you can measure the % of rotation. The mark on the obverse will show through the plastic

Ok here I go again, this is the best shot I can get at the moment. I am definately not set up for photo's of coins. You might say I use primative techniques. The mirror thing is absolutely out of the question, gave up on that within 5 minutes.  |

Do an archive search on this site, Coins and Canada, Coin talk and others. Just put rotation or rotated die in the search at the top and folk will get back to you. It ceertainly is the easiest by standing the holder upright, or holding it upright and taking a picture of the coin in front of the mirror so you can see both sides at once. It's very easy.
There's LOTS of interest on rotated dies once you get to over 40 degrees.
