PL; very shiny mirror fields, pebbly surface on the Queen's cheekbone and shoulder.

Specimens are more satiny looking and better-struck, with more details showing, particularly on the hair just above the ear.

MS coins have bag marks.

I'm not entirely sure, my guess is the planchet isn't buffed enough prior to striking for PL coins?

Specimen coins don't have it.

That being said, high-grade PL coins (PL-66+) of the KGVI 1950-1952 series still sometimes confuse me.

I have a 1951 PL-66 and SP-66 $1 and I can't tell the difference other than perhaps a very slight pebbly surface on the PL coin around the kings jawbone and lips

No matter what, it is a beauty. I suspect it is a PL with the thick, flat ring (reverse). As well it doesn't seem to have the sharp clean strike of a SP which usually has some cameo.
I have read that at times, a SP dies were used on the PL (uncirculated) coins.
I have examples of both types and find it hard to tell them apart. Obviously the ones in the set are PL, but singly ? PL vs MS - PL has fewer bag marks, often it is the packaging that indicates which is which, or the honest seller (from a set or a roll).
Sorry, can't be of more help, will wait for an expert's opinion.
