Are there any collectors here that collect Silver Strikes. I have a fairly large collection and am a Past President and long time member of the Silver Strikers Club. Here is a picture of one of my favorites. It is the only one know to exist. What do you all think?

Cool! Casino tokens are nice! I've got a few stashed away. I know I have one of the Luxor hotel ones that I picked up at one of my local LCSs. These were made for promo purposes, right?

You win them in the casinos from the Silver Strike Slot machines.

I collected the strikes of the New York, New York casino for a time - but haven't added to the collection in years.

Question: Is the piece you posted considered a true silver strike? It says right on it that it's "Not for Slot Play." I would think that disqualifies it- but I'm far from an expert on the area.

What is a Silver Strike? They are a Limited Edition silver token won from slot machines and are in a protective plastic holder. Some call them "Silver Premium Tokens", but most of us just call them "Silver Strikes". These tokens were issued in many casinos throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Cruise Ships. The first of these tokens were won from slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of $2, $3, $5, $7, $10, $12, $20, $28, $40, $200, $300 and range in size from 1-1/2 inches to 3-1/2 inches in diameter depending on the value. The $12 tokens are from cruise ships. The $200 & $300 are the only Silver Strikes to be paid by the attendant or received by exchanging a number of $10 strikes in at the cage (30 for a $300) in exchange for one (when available), due to its size and weight.

Does any casino still have or use these? When most casinos stopped using tokens in general I quit going. I never got into the chips.

Seems like the only thing the slots pay out now are paper receipts to take up the the cage for redemption. Takes all the fun out of it.
