Sellers pics. Thoughts on tone and grade?

AU55 details, cleaned and retoned. Not a fan unless it's a very scarce Overton variety.

Thanks, Paralyse, that's what I thought, cleaned and retoned. Is this what heat treating looks like to get this uniform toning around the edge.

Unnatural, soft, almost touched-up look to both sides. I'd ask for different pics.

I don't love the pictures. I am thinking that the coin has mid-AU sharpness, but I'd need to see higher quality photos to determine if it has been cleaned.

It was common practice to clean coins for many years before storing or displaying them.

Agree that this is likely holder or album toning.

Note that instead of having any sort of cartwheel, the luster is "all over" or unnaturally bright, e.g. left of the bust or above the eagle. This is a hallmark of cleaning/dipping.

AU but looks like it was dipped and retoned. Absent better pictures, which are needed, I'd assess it a market grade of AU-55.

I would net to AU-50 for the cleaning. It appears there is little to no luster remaining.

Mister T, ebay listing with current bid up to $157.00 with 3 days left. I was using this coin more as an example and learning opportunity for myself. Not planning to bid on it. I did notice a feedback score of 98.5, plenty of negative feedback just about how rudely this seller treats people. So I'll be steering clear of this seller.

Good luck to the buyer, these images are unnatural and deceptive by any measure.
