So I was going through my Washington quarter collection and really inspecting and checking them all out. And came across this. The only thing is, I also see a little bit of doubling on the chin as well, and I don't see that marking on any images on any reference websites. Is it possible it could really be a doubled die obverse, an actual DDO-001? Thoughts please! I am super excited to hear what you all have to say! *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

I do have close-ups but they are images of screens. I can't find my SD card for the microscope. Give me a little bit and I'll go look for it. Again.

From the current pics, it looks good for DDO-001...and in very nice condition to boot.

Thanks Dearborn! Does that mean it is what I think it is? I'm going to be totally elated if it is! Merry Christmas to me! Lol

I look at mine and seem promissing on this coin. You has to look at Washington's nose, ear, and the back of the queue. This it is an class IV spread nord. the wing die crack is present on all 1932 quarters with different degrees. So those Die Cracks are not really markers for this DDO. The really value of this DDO start with MS-63 and for me this coin could reach this line ( hard to preview what an TPG will say)

I'm only seeing glare from lighting at the moment. Can you get a photo of the ear and nose from a different angle?

It does not look like a DDO there are contact marks on the R,T and Y , although the close up pics are not very clear, the Nose and the Ear could be master die doubling at best. But all together it is a nice looking coin.

@ Chase: Quote: the Nose and the Ear could be master die doubling at best. No this DDO it is class IV doubled die, not hub doubling. Was present on only one Die. If was Hub doubling was present on many Dies. I know it is like others years ex: nose or the ear which was Hub doubled and easy to parallel them because seem like the others.

@ Chase007: You wrote on the best it is Master Die Doubling. In this case the working Hub will be Doubled and will produce many Doubled Dies. This DDO has only one Doubled Die, so mean that on the second squeeze the Working Hub doubled one X Die (unknow the specific no of these paticulary die). Probablly you think one thing and wrote other. This happened many time to all humans. How work: ONE Master HUB produce X no. Master Dies. Each Master Die produce X no of Working Hubs Each Working Hub produce X no (many) Working Dies.
