On the VV photo,see how the bottom of the ear is pointed and your coin is not. John1

Note: the area under the earlobe is shown "in shadow" on your photos. try to adjust your light source to show areas you have questions about. Can' see what's going on there. No sign of DDO anyway.

101 looks like a triangle pointing down with straight lines. It's the only ear DD for 83D.

When you find a 1983-D FS-101, it won't be remotely questionable. They are really funky-looking and unmistakable. But it isn't impossible there are more mild doubled eared from this year, so worth thinking about.
