Hello all!

Another coin! This time it's a 1923 Peace dollar. Again Philly and again common

As always I'm very curious how you would grade this and about your general observations. This one has a pretty interesting toning.

Moreover, this particular coin has some spots of heavy oxidations. Is it verdigris? I suppose it would be best, after the usual water and acetone baths following the polarity ladder, to address those spots with localised and precise treatments (drop of verdicare, EDTA, ..)?

58 sounds right. Leave it alone. This coin looks very original and conservation is likely to strip its originality while trying to "improve" it.

Wouldn't be better, at the very least, to try to stop the verdigris spots? (if its verdigris..)
To me it looks like a lot of "splattered" gunk is on this coin. Isn't there a risk of those corroding the surfaces years from now?
