I came across this coin in a dollar roll from the bank. Thomas Jefferson is clearly all silver. On the back the Statue of Liberty is all Silver. I have never seen anything like this. I can't find any information on this. Is this an Error coin? Please any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

My guess is this coin was silver plated, after it left the mint

1. not a milligram of gold. "Golden dollars" are Manganese brass bonded to a copper core.

2. That kind of selective coloration is done after it leaves the mint by private companies making "instant collectibles" to sell at ridiculous prices to non-collectors.

It's still worth it's $1 face value.

To CCF! It was most likely plated. PMD. Now it's wearing off with circulation wear. Value is 1 dollar.

It's certainly visually interesting and worth saving as a curiosity.

Another similar "product". As people have said, many outfits will tint, colorize, or plate American coins to sell as novelties at higher prices.

Just like the Quarters got 'colorized' the same happened to these dollars - but 'silverized' instead.
