Hey! I'm new here. I work a register and find myself going through coins when it's slow. I came across this New York State Quarter this morning and thought someone here might have some input!

Error or intentional tampering with the coin?

Not a mint error. Might be sanded down or some type of Dryer Coin. PMD either way.
