1774 George III Halfpenny--complete with grime!

Is that a die Fault To 'X' of 'REX' or is there another explanation?

Whilst the lettering is strong and raised with very little sign of wear the head of Brittania is very worn--was this a result of a weak strike,a worn die or something else?

Hi taxi-steve--yes, coin is still with me.

Haven't been on the forum for a while as I've just been too busy--I just can't seem to fit everything in!
