This nickel appears to be an early die state. There are no gouges around WE. The crack on the side of Monticello hasn't formed yet. Only a faint depression is visible where the die will eventually crack. The die gouge east of the S in Pluribus is present, so that must be the earliest marker. Report this Post to the Staff

I usually put the Wexler reference on the left, and my pictures on the right. For whatever reason, I did it backwards yesterday. Mine have the red arrows. Report this Post to the Staff
