Not if you go in with that aware of an attitude.

That said, you're looking in an area where even the most reputable sellers tend to overcharge due to demand among the unaware; bargains are available but you've got to bear down and do due diligence to find them.
I urge you to first obtain a free membership with Heritage Auctions (ha.com) to have access to their huge database (over a million coins) of auction results. Their photography is extremely high-resolution and an invaluable grading aid, not to mention assistance in valuation. My comments in your other thread are based on what I saw at Heritage.
These specific coins aren't within my area of interest (too pricey

)m so I can't recommend specific dealers; I will say that the CC's should be available in nice Mint State condition for less than $200, and the 1894 is going to be difficult but not impossible to find at a fair price. It's important to note the difference between Heritage auction results and dealer asking prices for this one; Heritage is patronized by discerning collectors who know the true value of a given coin, and I take their results as truth when they differ from standard "asking" prices.
Especially with the 1894, patience will be rewarded. Make sure your friend knows this.
I am "breaking" your email as posted; we don't want our members to fall victim to spambots which we haven't caught yet. It happens, even when you try as hard as we do to defeat them.
