It has nothing to do with Masons, where did you get that from? Read underneath the bottom of the monument- GAR= Grand Army of the Republic- the Union Civil War veterans organization held annual encampments through 1949 and this is a souvenir from the 1892 event.

I have no idea where that came from. It is in this collection of my late fathers. I have tons of coins I am going through. I have today found two full bank bags of US and world coins. Half of the world coins I have no idea of the country. Quarter of them I cant read. I just posted today some Japanese coins. I am going cross eyed right now. I know this is not so big as of a deal as the other, but I figured I would show you. I have coins that I can not show. I can not take a good photo or scanner image of them. This the last of the collection I am going through now. This is the toughest part. All the reserch of many may be worthless coins?

Thanks for showing the GAR token I have never seen one before but I am a bit of a history buff so I recognized what it was. I grew up in Southern Illinois which was home to a Union General- Gen. John A. Logan who was one of the founders of the GAR and one of the first commanders. He also led the first Memorial Day ceremony in 1866 and helped create the national holiday in 1868.

The next one you pictured is a trade token that was used throughout the South during the Civil War centennial. The reverse shares the design of the 1861-O Confederate half dollar, the obverse would have been the Seated Liberty design. I have seen a few from different southern cities but I think all of the ones I have seen have been brass so I am not sure what composition that one is

It seems maybe copper nickle? It is heaver than aluminum. But I really do not know the true metal content. I was born and raised in lower VA. My parents were from Mars Pa. just north of Pitt. Now I think it is a subburb?
