Hello, I'm looking to see if anyone can identify my Coins. I think I have two German planchet toonies. I found them in a small numismatic collection I received out of an estate. I took some ok pictures with coin snap but it identified them as a low MS. and said they were worth $4.95. I'd hate to sell these coins and then find out later they were worth ten times as much.

1st one

2nd one
German-Planchet-Toonies German-Planchet-Toonies

Any info would be great!

Your pics are a bit small , can't tell about the first one but the second one is a counterfeit camel toe. Also maybe you should start a new thread. jbuck fixed it

The guru (toonieman) says he can't tell from the photo if #1 is the German, but I personally think the 2nd one is cameltoe fake.

Compared to the certified proof I have of the same year both of the coins have normal looking front left paws and there is an absence the extra lines associated with the counterfeits. Earlier today I bought a "Canada 1996 First Year Issue BU UNC Uncirculated Toonie" from a reputable dealer in my area. I suppose the best thing to do is a direct comparison of the them and see if I'm just imagining the lines. Both examples look toned but not really like they have been circulated much, if at all.

edit: I forgot to mention i'll have to wait a few days for the toonie to arrive in the mail.

I think they are German planchets. And I've punched a few cores out to have a say. An answer to your question. Keepers.

Impossible to tell from photos, even photos better than these.
