Hey! I've been not-seriously collecting coins since I got my first job at age 14-and-a-half. I was born in the 1980s, so I used to walk my paper paychecks from where I worked over to the bank. The tellers would always tell me if they had any "funny money" and I'd buy odd half dollars or Ikes -anything the particular teller had when I was cashing my check. Once I bought a roll of silver dimes (still haven't opened it but it has 64 Roosevelts on both ends).
Now middle-aged, this hobby has been reinvigorated for me by my nephew who has started collecting currency quarters. I am thinking about starting to collect Peace dollars. I think they are really beautiful coins.
I live in a town in Massachusetts spelled Medford. This close to Boston the following pronunciations are options: "Medford" "Medfid" "Meffid" "Meffa" "Maffa"
All those work depending on who you are, where you grew up, your heritage, and whether or not you're making a joke!
I'll see if I can find a spot to post pics of my meager collection.
