I picked this one up recently, thoughts? I was thinking lower VF.

VF-20 or 25 sounds right. Interesting split die obverse.

I agree with the VF grade. You also have a Die Crack going on too.

I'm surprised, usually I grade more pessimistically than others. This is a solid VF-30. All JR-4 examples have the bisecting die crack, so it's usually not more desirable because of that.

For those interested in such things, the really nice 1837 10C die crack to look out for is the reverse late die state of JR-2.

Thx for the feedback, all. I was leaning more towards VF25, which seems to be the consensus.

@Reivers_Jewels, feel free to post up the JR2 example here if you have one handy. Otherwise I'll find a pic when I have time, I'm curious to see what one looks like.
