Hi, everyone!

I've come across a 1988-D with what looks like a pretty convincing double ear variety, though I cannot find this variety documented anywhere; (only for the 1988-P).

What do you think?

Might be a hit from PMD. Not a doubled ear.

Thanks everyone.

I'm having a hard time seeing this as PMD. Check out this shot from NGC for the 2018 Double Ear (looks very similar IMO):

What are the differences fundamentally between the two that make the 2018 appear legitimate and the 1988 not?

Thanks again!

How about taking a photo just like the one you just posted for a comparison? That may help us - as the ones you posted up above are tiny and faraway..
