A friend of mine brought this coin to me to try and figure out where it's from and any potential monetary value. Any help would be great. My apologies if posted in the wrong section.

Not a coin but a counter or jetton made in Germany in the 17th century. Not in good condition unfortunately so difficult to identify exactly. Probably like the specimen shown here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/ex...ia42705.html

The UK detector Finds Database article on Nuremberg jetons is still the best online resource for identifying these pieces.

This one is the "Rose/Orb" type; I can't identify the maker.

Yes, you can see part of the legend still: HANS ... IN NVRE (NURB?)

This is maybe Hans Schultes (It could be Lauffer or Krauwinckel, of course, but on this jeton the maker's name is on the orb side, not the crown side)

Other side legend is pretty far gone, you can only see maybe ..ND..GLA..

I could see WAL on the non-maker side across the D_GL text, and between that and Numista searching I think I've managed to ID the token!

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/ex...a184931.html

Numista gives the lettering (excluding interpuncts) as GLICK IST WALCZET VND and HANS SCHVLTES ZV NVREN; I do not see anything that contradicts either reading, but of course it could easily be a different spelling.
