When I was visiting my gf in Peru last summer, I bought this t-shirt. She explained to me that "RIN" was the name of a token Peruvians could buy for use in a public pay phone.
Obviously they're not around anymore since the pay phone has gone the way of the Edsel.
The shirt is very comfortable and--perhaps equally as important--looks cool!
