Hello, I bought this off curiosity alone. I have not received it yet for further pics but will when it does but I'm sure you smart people will help me long before then. The person who I bought wasnt a collector and is old so the pics arent from a tech savvy collector lol so I apologize. The coin appears to have raised die breaks (I believe is the term) and flat on that side but transitions perfectly to the edge so id assume it was that height of the edge. Obverse looks to be the same without the breaks, rim is showing slightly at 10o'clock which leaves me to think that side is even level as well. The coin is bent (seen in blurry pic) and in the picture of the obverse you can see its bent right alone where the flat surface does along the shield.

Looks to me like it may have placed on a railroad track and smashed.

I assumed that at first but ive never seen one that has risen streaks on 1 side and the metal even with the edge. Even with the edge would imply excess mass in that area, wouldn't assume a track coin coil condense mass in the flattened area to the point its risen to the level of the edge. I wouldnt know of course lol thats why I'm here obviously but thats what I assumed at first. She said it wasnt one (go figure lol) but I said it was and purchased thinking so but checking here either way.

It's not an error. It's been damaged after it left the U.S. Mint. PMD.
