This one was thrown into a lot of Roman and Byzantine bronzes I recently got. It's not something I recognize and haven't found anything so far, so I could use some help with this one!

Not sure, but first thought is Celtiberian, like an Apollo obverse type (perhaps with eagle/aguila reverse) from Obulco. But not sure size would work for those.

I have gotten Obulco bronzes out of other lots from this auction that were similarly Roman/Byzantine heavy... I'll look more into that area.

@Kamnaskires

I think you got it. Obulco Semis. Found this one, seems close if not a match: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=6671797

Yeah. I was wondering, though, about bird/eagle reverses (rather than bulls) - although I'm not certain if that's what's depicted on your coin. I also like the correspondence of the shape of the obverse head on these, compared to your coin. And the first example in the comparison below (just below your coin) has a decent reverse match-up too. FYI, it seems that sometimes the obverse head on this type is identified as Apollo, and other times as a female.

Ah I must have missed those in my search. Looking at it in hand, that does look like a well-defined beak on the reverse there. That seems very likely!

Thanks for the help!
