I have bought this coin with notes that state King Ardashir I, 223-240, AR drachm from Ctesiphon, 4.29 gr. Like most Sassanian coins it is very thin - does it look genuine to the experts? It looks almost too good to be true to me...

Thanks for the welcome - I'm still hoping to get a little input about my Sassanian coin which I'm very uncertain about.

I'm not really seeing anything suspicious about this one.

If you'd like examples to compare it with, these examples on zeno.ru.

Looking for anything suspicious, the perfectly circular edge and the excess metal by it at 5h and 8h in the obverse would make me uncomfortable. Also noticeable in the reverse by the bottom.
But I have no experience with this coinage.

And you think this points to a cast fake?

That excess and the perfectly circular flan are something that would make me check a coin closely in hand, worry about a cast.
