Sassanian Ardashir ! - Is Coin Genuine?

afw70213 New Member Switzerland 3 Posts	Posted 05/25/2024 1:06 pm I have bought this coin with notes that state King Ardashir I, 223-240, AR drachm from Ctesiphon, 4.29 gr. Like most Sassanian coins it is very thin - does it look genuine to the experts? It looks almost too good to be true to me... Report this Post to the Staff

jecz79 Pillar of the Community Portugal 655 Posts	Posted 05/27/2024 8:41 pm Looking for anything suspicious, the perfectly circular edge and the excess metal by it at 5h and 8h in the obverse would make me uncomfortable. Also noticeable in the reverse by the bottom. But I have no experience with this coinage. Report this Post to the Staff
