The '2' and the '0' in date really concerns me. Simply doesn't look right. Could this be the 1820/19?

Normally, I would be inclined to grade F12, but I am thinking VG10 is the highest I can grade, due to large obverse Gouge, Porosity, Rim Wear and Dirt. I find the dirty reverse troublesome, particularly around 'United'. Is it dirt, or is it a poorly casted fake?

I have been graced with the opportunity to buy a fine collection of a friend's father who recently passed. He took coin collecting very seriously, as I. For the first time in my life I now have several excellent examples of Draped Bust, Classic Head, Coronet, And Braided Hair, in both 1/2 cents and cents. Needless to say, I'm feeling a little giddy about it all.

It looks genuine, just corroded. This looks like the 1820/19 Newcomb-2 small overdate die variety. Pictures of the date are a little blurry, so certainly not 100%. PCGS and NGC and other sites have pictures of die varieties, so you can check it out yourself.

Agree, it looks VG details.

Is is the 20 over 19. I had one in hand last week, in my opinion about AU50. Very nice coin when it good shape. Almost sorry I dropped out of the auction.
The 1 under the 2 was exactly like this one.

Thank you. I just wasn't sure, since I've never had one in hand.
