Dots In Serial On Japan 104B 2000 2000 Yen

ShareBear Valued Member Canada 499 Posts	Posted 06/04/2024 7:14 pm With the Japanese Yen being at good exchange rate there have been a few people I know that are traveling to Japan. They have been getting some Yen for their travels and I have been lucky enough to look through them for anything collectable. These Japan 104b 2000 2000 Yen have dots on the serial numbers. They are not consistent or neat but only appear on the serial numbers. The dots also do not look like the are black sharpie because there is no ink bleed to the other side of the paper. Japanese Yen are printed on thin paper. I have attached images of the 2000 yen with and without dots. I was wondering if anyone has seen something similar or have any guesses on what these are.
