Does anyone have any additional information about the Breton 530 Montreal & Lachine Railroad re-strike souvenir tokens? How many were issued in gold, silver, bronze? Has anyone seen one in gold? What are they priced at? Thanks everyone - have a great weekend!

The bronze and silver re-strikes.

@mikev50

Thank you for that link. Some value estimates which is nice to see - just nothing for gold. I can't believe that it is so difficult to track down mintage numbers for re-strikes.

Thanks again - have a great weekend!

That's a big issue with Canadian medallions and tokens in general. There is either no catalog or there is, but it is long out of print and hard to track down. If you find out who minted them, then maybe you can contact them, but often the mint is no longer in business or has been through a series of mergers/acquisitions, so records are lost.

Yeah - there is a bit more information about the original token (granted the number that escaped the melting pot will never be known). I was able to track down that the re-strikes were struck by the Wellings Mint, but haven't been able to find much more than that.
