Hi coin community!
I don't have much info on this coin. It was given to my grandmother by her mother and then passed to me. She doesn't know the language or how her mother had it in her possession. What I do know is that my grandmother and great grandmother are from a small village in Bulgaria called Dagonovo on the southwest part of the country.

Yes indeed, welcome to the CCF!

The dates visible on your coin are Anno Hejira (AH, Islamic date) 1223 (accession year, on the bottom of the first photo) and regnal year 30 (at the top of the first photo). This is how Hondo Boguss correctly dated your coin to AD 1837 using the table on the Numista page.

This numista page seems interesting. It says that the coin weighs 1.6g and is made of gold with no fineness information. It also says that it is worth USD$99.33 in bullion value. But the only entry for value in XF grade is $9.00. Something doesn't make sense here.

The value you cite is an auction result for a gilded imitation of this coin.

Seems odd that a reproduction of a coin would be put up as a representative sale for the issuance.
