*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

So, I came across this 2021 P Dime, heavily damaged!!!! But I noticed a couple of things that I am not sure on and I am just trying to understand what it is I am seeing better any input would be appreciated

the first, is on the Ob. The top part of his head seems very off, almost alien-like in shape. my initial thought was some kind of force caused the metal to shift up although I do not see indications that would line up with this thought

then on the Rev. the top of the flame seems like it is extended too and again no indication of a blunt trauma that would explain a shift in the metal

so, then my 2nd thought was maybe a welder dropped a little pearl of material on it somehow and it just formed into the coin .. idk it almost seems like there is extra metal and I understand that it would be a PMD issue I am just curious what would cause the 2 spots have what seems like 'extra'

 and again thank you

I see a heated dime, like a campfire or a house fire damaged it.
Use the search box upper left of page for more info and photos.
I also added a bit to your title.

When a clad coin is heated to extreme temps, the outer layer (the cladding) will separate from the copper core.
