I have been going through some more Newfoundland stuff today and am hoping to get some grading help.

A few of them look like they were just released yesterday but have really strong, polishing marks. I am trying to figure out if polishing the coin is a part of minting? The polished areas are not over the design, but seem to have been done before the design was there.

Anyway, here is the first coin. I could not for the life of me get the fact that it has almost a mirror finish and what seems to be full luster to show up in the photos. It either would reflect the camera or turn too dark or too light. Frustrating.

Also, Kurt I know you are pretty good at spotting the Newfoundland and Canadian coin varieties so feel free to make me like this coin even more. :) (more are coming keep an eye out!)

... one more question. Is this the size of a nickel or 1/2 of a dime?

This one looks like the "narrow date" version, which is more common than the wide version.
In terms of grade, it shows more wear than your '44, and the rim dings will put it into EF imo--just a guess.
