Hi everybody! Just wanted to say hi, I just registered as a member on here. Became interested in collecting coins a while back. It's been maybe half a year or so. I'm mainly into US coins right now. Mainly the older coins no longer even known or recognized by the general population, but find the current currencies neat too.
It's funny cause I started my interest with foreign coins. Probably cause they were something different. I liked the uniqueness and beauty in some of the other designs from other places that I hadn't seen as opposed to just a bunch of past presidents... Then the more I grew into my hobby and expanded my knowledge, gaining information and finding out more about the US coin history I became fascinated and enchanted by our past and all the coins from our history.

So ya, I'm finally stumped on something and was hoping to get others opinions so I joined. I realize a 2004 D Louisiana purchase Jefferson proof nickel shouldn't exist. I'm pretty sure... Yet I came across one that if I didn't know better looks to me too much like a proof and I need others opinions.
Plus I figured this coin forum membership will probably be helpful for many other inquiries and also look forward to meeting a bunch of people who share a common interest &
