I tend to agree with you on the "too good to be true" part. I've never seen a "real" ancient coin with that sort of bubbly appearance behind the portrait.
I don't think there are too many "bilingual" coins in the early Greek/Roman series either - that's "Latin" (or English) on the portrait side and Greek on the other side (the legend reads AGEIROTAN)
