I got this Macuta a while ago via ebay. Intriguingly, it appears to be a die match with several of the Katz Auctions examples that are shown on the Numista website (N#33201). One of the Katz examples has similar coloring. My example has definitely been lacquered. This one weighs 11.00 g, while Numista lists it as 16 g (but KM notes that lightweight examples exist weighing 10.96 g). Can I assume this is probably one of those lightweight examples? Is it worth removing the lacquer with acetone, or best to leave as-is? And what grade would you call this? There are sharp details at the center, but weak edges, which I assume is due to the strike... but otherwise I see minimal wear. 11.00 g, 34.5 mm.
There are many macutas like that, covered in some old varnish. You can leave as is unless the varnish is cracking. Then the coin will oxidize near the cracks. It creates a pattern you may or may not like.
Control of weight and the size of the blanks in these emissions was bad. And there were some struck in larger blanks, 39 mm, those were the ones that could weight to 17g. Very scarce.
These coins used to be expensive but I have seen many in the smaller size for sale in recent years. Never found the source.
